One middle-aged man's latest desperate attempt to shed the pounds and return to fitness
The final day of sloth (?)

The day got of to a bad/good start when my kids presented me with a bottle of dark rum as a father's day pressie. plus they insisted on cooking me a full English breakfast. It was worth it to hear my six-year-old son boast that he had "cut the mushrooms" which I think was his entire output. Breakfast was nice. I also treated myself to a couple of "naughties" that I love - a can of Red Bull and a bottle of Lucozade, habits I'll have to curtail in future.

Was determined to gave a lazy day today and fortunately the TV was choc-ful of brain-numbing TV I could crash out to, so crash I did. Stuffed more treats down my gullet - a bar (or two) of chocolate, a couple of large cans of lager, a large bag of nacho chips and a double chilli-burger. Aware this makes me sound a complete footmeister but I don't habitually dine this way. Managed also to down half the bottle of dark rum, and I don't even like dark rum that much!

Still, here goes. I don't subscribe to the "this is the first day of the rest of my life" way of thinking. My life is my life and I [largely] love it the way it is. I just want to be thinner and fitter!
