WEIGHT : 227 pounds [seventeen pounds lost] First post for two weeks. I didn't post last week as I didn't lose any weight, but this week I've finally had a "two-pound" week. Hurrah! Actually I'm very tired today as I cycled the seventeen miles into and from work yesterday then played football for a while. I was utterly knackered by half-time, and could only amble across the pitch ineffectively (some would say that's my usual gait anyhow!), and this morning I've cycled in again. I nee...

WEIGHT : 229 pounds [fifteen pounds lost] Another pound vamooshes off. I thought I may have a two-pound week but it was not to be. I could do with a two pound week for once, but my body seemd to have other ideas. I think I had a little too much to drink this week. Weekends seem so dull unless alcohol is involved - I know that's a pretty pathetic stance [and excuse] but heck, life has to retain an element of fun occassionally. About three weeks to go until my deadline day so I don't t...

WEIGHT : 230 pounds [fourteen pounds lost] Only one pound lost this week, which is expected as due to my damaged ankle my bike has not been as utilised as it could have been. I have now reached the magical "one stone lost" barrier and broken it! Hurrah! I'm sticking to the diet pretty well, although again I had too much alcohol over the weekend. I somehow manage to abstain during the week but once Friday hits it's a case of "gee whizz - tis the weekend, let's settle my butt down on th...

WEIGHT : 231 pounds [thirteen pounds lost] And so the weight continues to trickle off, a very healthy two pounds this week, thirteen pounds in total, nearly a stone in English money and still over a month to go! My weight seemed to be hovering around the same weight as last week for ages, but then finally I stepped on the scales this a of m and the digital display lit up to 231! Woo, and indeed, yay! I have been a little naughty this week, indeed on one day I had far far far too many c...

WEIGHT : 233 pounds [eleven pounds lost] Finally! The barrier is broken! Actually, during the week I seemed to gain a couple of pounds but they have skewed off as well, so I've lost three pounds in total. I'm still lo-carbing, and have noticed a significant change in my appetite. I'm having a big breakfast (bacon and tomatoes (grilled), eggs (fried, scrambled or omelette), mushrooms (fried) and half a slice of toast) and a salad (cheese/ham/egg/sausage) for lunch. By the time it co...

WEIGHT : 234 pounds [ten pounds lost] As expected, I've hit the plateau. Not a pound lost this week, despite sticking to the diet rigidly and plenty of exercise. The next week is a crucial week - I expect to lose two to three pounds. I've nothing much else to say. I'm definitely feeling fitter, and happier. Nothing much to report life-wise either. Hopefully, this is a good thing!

WEIGHT : 234 pounds [ten pounds lost] So, that's ten pounds lost in fourteen days, thanks to a lo-carb diet. It can't ALL be water, can it? Surely not?? I understand how this thing works - my body, starved of its normal carbohydrate intake, has used the stored carbohydrate, hence reducing the amount of water required to store this carbohydrate, hence reducing the amount of water my body stores. The next stage (allegedly) is that my body no longer has enough carbs to fuel it, so it starts ...

WEIGHT : 235 pounds [nine pounds lost] Hmmm. Well, I've managed to lose nine pounds in ten days on the lo-carb diet. That's the same weight I shifted in a month on my previous diet. Weird, init? I don't expect (and indeed I hope) that this rate of loss doesn't continue! I now await the plateau stage. I'm not sick of the foods yet (basically, meat, salad veg & cheese) but I would murder me own mother for a sandwich. Still, I'm only doing this until November 19th, and am aiming for a wei...

WEIGHT : 238 pounds [six pounds lost] Oh yes, the joys of the lo-carb diet - you lose virtually a pound a day, for the first week anyway! If all goes to schedule I'll lose three pounds next week, and then nothing the week after before it begins to trickle off at around two pounds a week, as is healthy. This ISN'T the Atkins Diet, I stress. I don't believe all that kitosis/body chemistry stuff he came out with (my own, individual opinion of course) - the case is, on a lo-carb diet you eat...

WEIGHT : 244 pounds (0 pounds lost) Well, it's been a while since I posted, and the more observant amongst you will notice I've now fully re-gained the meagre weight I had previously discarded. Reasons? Well, after my week of early starts my system was completely messed up and I ended up very run-down. I was awakening every morning with a sore throat, a raging headache, and a nose ful of crap (urgh!). Whilst I tried to stick to my diet I just wasn't in the mood. It wasn't too drastic (...

WEIGHT : 241 pounds (3 pounds lost) EXERCISE : See below ALCOHOL : NONE It's been a while since I posted an entry, but my life has gone a little strange at the moment, as I sit here just before 5am at work typing this in! My employers are getting me to cover the site from 430am each morning, which isn't a great deal of fun! This means my cycling has gone out of the window as I can't get a train this early in the morning, so I'm finding it difficult to fit in any exercise, although my ...

WEIGHT : 241 pounds (3 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 17 miles cycling ALCOHOL : None Right, it's all going Pete Tong. I haven't had a drop of alcohol since Sunday. I've eaten sensibly, good food but in moderation. I've exercised consistantly (except for Tuesday because of torrential rain). Yet, I've managed to gain a pound. This is SO dis-heartening. Perhaps my body just likes being fat? Perhaps my body and brain have had a falling out and are keen to mess each other up. I couldn't be...

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 17 miles cycling, 60 mins football. ALCOHOL : None A bit of a boozy weekend before going tee-total. Not too bad - I wasn't exactly drowning in the stuff, but I did do some beers and some wine (we found a bottle of wine my wife had previously hidden behind the cereal boxes - scary or what?). Didn't eat too badly though, just the usual, but as I've explained before, it's the booze that is the problem, not the food (as my taste buds seem to ...

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 17 miles cycling ALCOHOL : [hic] Well, I've decided now to go cold turkey on the alcohol front. After football training tomorrow we're going to finish off all the alcohol in the house and from that point on I'm going to see how long I can go without drinking. I'm DEFINITELY not going to drink AT ALL next week, and see what difference that makes to the (currently static) weight-loss. It's no coincidence that both times I DID actually mana...

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Not a great deal ALCOHOL : Hmm. I'm cranked onto the drinking craze again. Seems it was only a couple of weeks ago that I couldn't care one way or the other about alcohol - it seems only a couple of weeks ago because it was! Funny how Mistress Booze can creep up behind you when you're not looking and take you into her fuzzy-headed embrace. Tonight I came home from work and cracked open a beer. Then I had another one. Then I went o...
