Finally I seem to be back on track, health-wise at least. I breezed into work this morning, even after some enforced train-shuffling. I was asked to move carriages as my bike was causing an obstruction which, being an amiable chap, I duly did without a complaint (although I made sure my features were set into a derisive scowl). Then the train got delayed and I had to alight anyhow and move to an altogether different train. Tsk. The "bad news" i mentioned last week isn't going to fade away as speedily as I hoped, and could lead to a protracted process. Why is it when life for once appears to be adopting the aroma of roses, something comes along and empties a bag of manure all over you?
Had a real epoch tonight. My wife (who is also allegedly on a diet, in the same way as George Bush is allegedly a humanitarian) bought home a bottle of wine. She proferred me a small glass, which I gladly accepted . . . but . . . then . . . I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MORE! I enjoy now having a clear head, to have clarity in my thinking, and just could not face (again) the thought of being hungover. All this was enough reason for me to eschew further glasses. WOO! YAY! Saying that I'm going out tomorrow evening and will probably get bladdered.
Sunday is a big day as it's my first time in charge of my soccer boys in an actual match. Have managed to get a team together, although a couple of the lads are on their hols.
