One middle-aged man's latest desperate attempt to shed the pounds and return to fitness
Day Ten
Published on June 30, 2004 By Peter Attaway In Diet
WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost)
EXERCISE : One and a half hours cycling
ALCOHOL : NONE!

All seems to be going well aside from my "bad news", some progress upon which I expected yesterday but sadly failed to materialise, leaving me a further day to stew. It's important I don't become dis-spirited as the potential of adversity this may cause in many aspects of my life is alarming. Really quite felt like a beer tonight but I managed to survive. A handy tip - I always undress as soon as I get home and wrap my ample frame within a dressing gown. This means to get beer I would have to re-dress, get in the car, drive to the off-license (or walk to the pub), then come home. The more steps it appears I introduce into the process, the less likely it appears I can be bothered actually get off my backside and do it! I have half a chance of beer on Thursday (school BBQ) but as it's likely to be warm cans of Stella I'm not getting overly excited. This week has been bizarre in that two old friends have crawled up from the ether and made contact with me, making a hat-trick of ex-buddies I have recently re-established contact with.
