One middle-aged man's latest desperate attempt to shed the pounds and return to fitness
Day Eleven

WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost)
EXERCISE : One and a half hours hours cycling
ALCOHOL : 3 cans warm Stella, glass red wine

Woo. July already. This means I'm a mere ten days until I reach 37. Thirty-bl**dy-seven. My continuing facade that I remain youthful grows less and less tenable with each passing second. Yay. No progress on the "bad news" - no news is good news? Maybe so, but I'm getting a little angry that I'm being kept in the dark over this. Grrrr. There - you see? I'm angry. Did the four days cycling thing for the first time in ages this morning. This means I've cycled about 70 miles this week. Bloomin' 'eck! I'm feeling much fitter, even after eleven or so days of effort. The trick now is to keep it going. Most of my diets end up in failure (and I end up as tubby as ever). I suppose a that's a trend I ought really to break. Fraid the lure of beer [even warm beer] was too tempting tonight at the school BBQ and I ended up indulging more than I should have - besides, standing around, sipping warm lager yapping about football with a couple of friends - not exactly a terrible way to spend one's time. Once I'd imbibed my resolve buckled and I ate too much and too late. Tsk.
