ALCOHOL : Half bottle red wine, two cans beer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! etc etc etc. Despite asking for nothing calorific for my presents I got a bottle of red wine, a bar of chcolate and a bag of tortilla chips! Apparently this was my son's idea for an "instant movie-watching kit" as I got "The Return of the King" on DVD, so I forgave him. My wife bought me a bracelet and my daughter "bought" (she's not yet three) me another DVD - which my wife took back to the shop as it's one I didn't like. It didn't really seem like my birthday as I took my son to football practise in the morning (he did reasonably well) and then both son and daughter to a birthday party. We got home around half-two, so I watched ROTK with my son (who stuck the first two hours before declaring boredom - I was impressed he got past Shelob without scarpering from the room). Managed not to make a complete pig of myself (as I usually do on my birthdays) although I still over-ate and am dreading my appointment with the scales tomorrow! Also didn't drink too much, as I simply didn't feel like it. So another birthday, another year older, and I have successfully reached 37. -
