WEIGHT : 236 pounds (8 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 75 minutes cycling ALCOHOL : Tot of rum Still a little poorly. I don't know whether it was my system re-adjusting itself to the idea of food but myself and my wife awoke this morning to a foul, fetid atmosphere permeating every nook and cranny of the bedroom. No prizes for approximating the source of said stink! The cycle into work in the morning was much of a bind as I had so little energy, but someone I managed to get to work. My stom...

WEIGHT : 235 pounds (9 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Too exhausted ALCOHOL : Small glass of red wine Woke up feeling hardly 100%, but a heck of a lot better than yesterday, much less zombie-esque. My lack of food of yesterday has meant that three pounds has melted off my body, but complete abstinence is hardly a healthy way to diet (unless the "t" is silent!). Still, nine pounds lost in two weeks, so my latest dietary endevour does appear to producing results. Didn't feel exactly energetic...

WEIGHT : 238 pounds (6 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Not a lot ALCOHOL : Please, none! Again, I awoke with my head full of dark clouds, and awoke dead early (5 am) which is okay as I like getting up early. Yeah, I know, perverse but that's just me.Have been poorly sick all day. Exploding ass, rumbling tum, that sort of thing. My son has it worse and is puking up at every opportunity. I think I gave up at 2pm and just lay on the settee. I moved to the bed at 8pm. Apart from that I've don...

WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Footie Training ALCOHOL : Two pints lager, glass red wine Woke up this morning with a sore head. It was sickening - After three days of complete abstinence my brain had obviously gotten used to non-alcoholic blood, and has decided to punish me. I don't like it. I'm typing this at noon and am still in [gentle] pain. I long for clarity.Still no news (or progress) on "bad news". A couple of people are helping me out, which is reassurring. ...

WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost) EXERCISE : One and a half hours hours cycling ALCOHOL : 3 cans warm Stella, glass red wine Woo. July already. This means I'm a mere ten days until I reach 37. Thirty-bl**dy-seven. My continuing facade that I remain youthful grows less and less tenable with each passing second. Yay. No progress on the "bad news" - no news is good news? Maybe so, but I'm getting a little angry that I'm being kept in the dark over this. Grrrr. There - you see? ...

WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost) EXERCISE : One and a half hours cycling ALCOHOL : NONE! All seems to be going well aside from my "bad news", some progress upon which I expected yesterday but sadly failed to materialise, leaving me a further day to stew. It's important I don't become dis-spirited as the potential of adversity this may cause in many aspects of my life is alarming.Really quite felt like a beer tonight but I managed to survive. A handy tip - I always undress as soon a...

WEIGHT : 237 pounds (7 pounds lost) EXERCISE : One and a half hours hours cycling ALCOHOL : NONE! Well I guess yesterday's monster cycling did the trick, as I've reached my weekly target in two days! Guess I'll just have to keep it going! I think I'll aim for another couple of pounds by next Sunday.Stuck my diet today with a good level of success, and managed to eschew alcohol for the second day running! Woo! Yay! I have a couple of social occasions this week, including the school ...

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Two hours cycling ALCOHOL : NONE! Today I took a longer cycling route to work as I missed my usual train halfway through. It was excellent exercise, if extremely tiresome. I won't be doing that in a hurry again unless utterly necessary. A river's worth of sweat poured off me and at times I could hardly get enough breath into my body.No alcoholic opportunities, hence no alcohol. Hurrah!

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Bit of walking ALCOHOL : Two pints of lager, small glass red wine Well, I haven't exactly shook the drinking, have I? Had a pub lunch as well. Again, I'm making excuses in that I've had an extremely busy weekend, and just needed to treat myself. I'm going to push myself a little harder in the forthcoming week, and I don't have any "social occassions" until Saturday, so abstaining will hopefully be a little easier. Happy to have lost fou...

WEIGHT : 239 pounds (5 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Thirty minutes cycling ALCOHOL : Two cans of lager, small glass red wine The good news is I'm sleeping better - the bad news is I'm eating . . . er . . . better!Today was extremely busy. Took my son to footie training (at which I've now also been asked to help out), I had to cycle as wifey needed the car for shopping, hence affording me thirty minutes of exercise. Came back and after a few brief moments we all went to the village show, d...

WEIGHT : 239 pounds (5 pounds lost) EXERCISE : Football training, Forty minutes walking ALCOHOL : Two small bottles beer, small glass red wine Thankfully I didn't put any weight on! I also slept like the preverbial baby last night, thanks to the lovely Mr Stella.Food-wise, I think I ate a little too much (but nothing to be utterly ashamed about). I took football training for my son's side, which was a little tiring. I then had a brief football meeting, from which I had to return the ...

WEIGHT : 239 pounds (5 pounds lost) EXERCISE : None ALCOHOL : 4 cans lager Woo! Yay! I seem to have lost a further two pounds. Won't get too excited, early days.Terrible getting to sleep again last night. My wife is suffering from some sinus complaint. It's like sleeping (or attempting to sleep) next to Thomas the Tank Engine. Can't remember what time I finally dropped off but 2am seems a likely estimate, and I was awake at five, and then again at six twenty when I was called-out....

WEIGHT : 241 pounds (3 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 75 minutes cycling ALCOHOL : Nil Boo! I seem to have acquired a pound. Damn & Blast. Oh well, early days. It was weird going to sleep last night without the buzz of alcohol going through my head. I'm hardly the best person in the world at getting to sleep and alcohol has always been an aide to me surmounting this. It was hard going without my sleep-inducing friend. I have an extremely busy mind - not that I solve any world issues, ...

WEIGHT : 240 pounds (4 pounds lost) EXERCISE : 75 minutes cycling ALCOHOL : Nil [Woo! Yay!] Woo! Yay! Four pounds lost already. Okay, so this is just my body ridding itself of all the crap [literally] I shovelled in on Sunday, but it's a welcome start. I haven't set myself a target weight - my intention is just to keep going until I feel fit and comfortable. I say I haven't set myself a target but dipping under 200 pounds would be very welcome.Cycled to work again as exercise (than...

WEIGHT : 244 pounds EXERCISE : 75 minutes cycling ALCOHOL : 3 cans lager, half bottle dark rum... Well, all went well on the first day exercise-wise (cycling to and from work) and food-wise (just sensible eating), but as for the alcohol, I'm more than a little embarrassed. I have a handy excuse though, as the lager was consumed during England's latest Euro2004 match (4-2 v Croatia - hurrah!) which I viewed in a bar (at the local fire station) so it seemed a little churlish to stand the...
